Bio

Nick Lavender

Hello, I’m Nick Lavender

I am an ordained Pastor and have a Doctorate of Divinity, I am married to Sue and we are elders at our church and we are involved in church activities a few times a week. Music has been a big part of my life, and continues with my volunteering at 4CRB in the library and also doing overnight DJ work as well.I love the interaction I have with listeners who frequently contact me for information about songs/ music they hear on the station.

I started in music at 8 years of age by learning the flute, then moved on to the clarinet and finally the drums. As a 14 y.o. I was in a band and started performing at local dances. My first foray into radio was when my brother worked for Artransa Park (2GB) in the record library. I was asked by a bloke there to record an ad for him – surprise surprise I was paid 5 pounds for this and started doing ads more frequently.

I love Rock ‘n’ Roll and the Beatles are my favourite band, and most of the 50’s to 80’s music as well, particularly the British Invasion bands and local Australian bands as well.

I love being there for the listeners overnight, keeping them company, and helping them to pass the time.

Sean Hoschke

Greetings! I’m Sean, a fresh face at 4CRB since 2023, making the exciting transition from the world of secondary school English teaching to contribute to the community in a whole new light.

With a passion for surfing and a deep appreciation for live music aficionado, my diverse musical palate spans from Radio Birdman and Sunnyboys rock, to the seminal works of Royal Crown Review, Fela Kuti, and the Warumpi Band.

Upon embracing the unique opportunity to be part of the 4CRB family, I’m thrilled by the strong sense of community here. Having spent years shaping young minds in the classroom, volunteering at 4CRB allows me to contribute to the community in a different yet equally meaningful way. I encourage our listeners to connect with the incredible staff and volunteers who make up the workforce of the station.
